Aynor is a small town in Horry County, South Carolina, United States, south of Galivants Ferry. The population was 560 at the 2010 census and estimated in 2016 to be 763. Aynor High School consistently ranks as among one of the best schools in Horry County.

Carolina Forest is an unincorporated community in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. It lies between Myrtle Beach and Conway in an area planned by International Paper in the late 1990s. Regarded as the "bedroom community" of Myrtle Beach, the planned unit development will have 20,000 single and multi-family homesites when completed.

Conway is a city in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 17,103 at the 2010 census, and had an estimated population in 2016 of 22,761. It is the county seat of Horry County and is part of the Myrtle Beach metropolitan area. It is the home of Coastal Carolina University.

Garden City, sometimes known as Garden City Beach, is a census-designated place (CDP) in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. Despite its name, Garden City is not incorporated and does not have a city council or mayor. The population was 9,209 at the 2010 census.

Little River was the first known community in Horry County and was first settled by the Lewis's and Waitie, Vereen and Tilighman families The area is mainly made up of old scrub pine forests, marshes and swamps and is bordered by the Waccamaw River and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. Live oaks, Spanish moss, and palm trees dot the landscape. The community is host to an annual Blue Crab Festival each May.

Longs is a small unincorporated community in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. It lies directly west and northwest of North Myrtle Beach, located at the intersection of S.C. 9 and S.C. 905. Longs consists of many new developments, planned communities, a few golf courses, and many businesses.

Loris is in northern Horry County on the Atlantic coastal plain. Loris is well known for the annual Bog Off festival which is held on the third weekend in October every year. As of the census of 2010, there were 2,396 people, 819 households, and 546 families residing in the city which indicated a +15.2 growth.

Murrells Inlet is an unincorporated area and census-designated place straddling the line between Horry and Georgetown Counties in South Carolina, United States. The community was once primarily a fishing village but has grown substantially in modern time, along with the rest of the Grand Strand, into a popular tourist and retirement location. It is most known for the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, a 1⁄2-mile-long (0.8km) boardwalk overlooking a salt marsh and which houses many restaurants

North Myrtle Beach is a city in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. It was created in 1968 from four existing municipalities north of Myrtle Beach and serves as one of the primary tourist towns along the Grand Strand. As of the 2010 census, the population was 13,752.

Pawleys Island is a town in Georgetown County, South Carolina, United States, and the Atlantic coast barrier island on which the town is located. The island is on the southern end of The Grand Strand and is one of the oldest resort areas of the US East Coast. The town of Pawleys Island, though, is only on the island. The island lies off the Waccamaw Neck, a long, narrow peninsula between the ocean and the river, and is connected to the mainland by two bridges, the North Causeway and the South Causeway.

Surfside Beach is a town in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. Its nickname is "The Family Beach". The population was 3,837 at the 2010 census. It was previously known as Roach's Beach and had only a few buildings surviving the hurricane of 1893. Principal industries were lumber and feed farming for the 30 or so horses and mules in the area. The new owner, Mr. George J. Holiday, renamed the area Floral Beach for his wife, Flora, and daughter, Floramay.
